DEARBORN, Mich. – After searching America for the best people, places, ideas and innovations, the editors of Reader’s Digest recognize the Ford F-250 Super Chief concept as one of the top innovations for 2006 in the magazine’s third annual "America's 100 Best" issue.
The Ford F-250 Super Chief concept debuted at the 2006 North American International Auto Show in January as the world's first vehicle with Tri-Flex fueling, enabling the supercharged V-10 to run for 500 miles between fill-ups on hydrogen, E85 ethanol or gasoline. Super Chief is Ford's most advanced, well-appointed pickup ever – showcasing the tri-fuel flexibility as one possible innovation by Ford to help pave the way for hydrogen vehicles, as the nation's ethanol and hydrogen fueling infrastructure continues to develop.
