(Of course if you're unsuccessful you're no worse off then you were..) Personally I much prefer a mechanical linkage for my 4 by 4 operation; I can feel the engagement and know if the linkage has come apart or needs adjustment BEFORE I get stuck! ;-) Tim ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://www.ford-trucks.com//lc/lc.php?action=do&link=http://webmail.netscape.com. ------------------------------ Date: 10 Jun 00 21:04:50 EDT From: Tim Turner Subject: Re: [What priced used?] Adam McLaughlin > I have the option to buy a 1987 2.9. I'm not in your area so I can't say if the price is fair or not but a few phone calls to some junkyards in your area could probably give you a clue. My suggestion (if you're up to the task) would be to get a complete engine that isn't in as good a shape for less money and use the savings to rebuild it yourself. Of course you can just have this engine on hand and swap it in when the original fails and it should buy you some time to rebuild (or have rebuilt) the first one... Tim ....
